Building software

This page has a software dedicated to the building. Its purpose is to enable building professionals to hobbyists who like to do construction or renovation to understand how this software can help them in their work.

Bricocalculette is a downloadable shareware that allows for 40 types of calculations and conversions useful in many different areas of habitat. It can also easily make complex calculations through a system of original colaboration between these modules.

The calculation function: electrical conductor max allows you to calculate the maximum length that can have an electrical conductor so that the voltage drop does not exceed the percentage you set. A voltage drop of 3% is usually considered acceptable. The maximum length of the conductor is calculated based on the voltage, amperage, type of circuit and the section of wire.
You can calculate the length of wire using the standard calculator or the calculator electrical circuit that can be accessed from the dropdown list in the formula box.

To calculate the maximum length of an electrical conductor:
1) Type the value of the voltage in volts.
2) Click "&".
3) Type the value of the electrical current in amperes.
4) Enter the value of the section of wire in mm2.
5) Click "&".
6) Enter the percentage of voltage drop.
7) Click "f="  to perform the calculation. The calculation result is displayed in the input box and the formula box in response to the entered parameters.

Using the result of the calculation:
The result of calculating the maximum length of the driver is automatically saved and you can reuse it as the parameter value of another calculation by clicking on the "MR" button.
You can also copy this result into the clipboard of Windows by running the key combination "Ctrl + C". This allows you to retrieve the value in another program or a Word document, Excel, or email.

The calculation function: electric circuits allows you to calculate the cross wire size, the amperage of the fuse and the circuit breaker of an electrical circuit. These characteristics of the circuit are calculated based on the type and number of shots. wire size is given in mm2 (square millimeters). The intensities electric fuse and circuit breaker are given in amperes.

To calculate the wire size and amperage fuse and breaker of an electrical circuit
 1) Select the type of electrical circuit in the list.
 2) Click the "&".
 3) Select the number of shots that should have the electrical circuit.
 4) Click "f=" to perform the calculation. By default this is the section of the wire that appears.
 5) Click fuse to view the value of the amperage of the fuse. If the type of circuit there is no fuse is the "#NV" (no value see Error Handling) that appears.

 6) Click for Circuit Breaker display the value of the amperage of the circuit breaker.

Using the result of the calculation
Calculation result of electrical circuit is automatically saved and you can reuse it as the parameter value to another calculation by clicking on the button MR.
You can also copy the result into the clipboard of Windows by running the key combination "Ctrl C". This allows you to retrieve the value in another program or a Word document, Excel, or email.

The calculation function: calculation for flooring allows you to calculate the amount of flooring and joists to cover a rectangular area. These quantities of flooring and joists are calculated according to the dimensions of the surface to be covered and the type of installing the flooring.

To calculate the amount of flooring and joists
 1) Select the unit of measure you want to work.
 2) Type the value of the length of the surface.
 3) Type the value of the width of the surface.
 4) Click "f=". The default is the number of square meters of flooring that appears.
 5) Click "Joists" to display the amount of joists.

Using the result of the calculation
The result of the calculation of quantities of flooring joists and is automatically saved and you can reuse it as the parameter value to another calculation by clicking on the "MR" button.
You can also copy the result into the clipboard of Windows by running the key combination "Ctrl + C". This allows you to retrieve the value in another program or a Word document, Excel, or email.

The calculation function: stairs allows you to calculate the height, the horizontal stair run and number of steps of a straight staircase.
The calculation is performed so that the height of steps is between 16 and 19 so as to ensure the comfort of walking.

To calculate the number and height of the steps of a stair

1) Select the unit of measurement with which you wish to work.
2) Enter the value of the height to ground floor. This height is the vertical distance between the starting point of the stairway are ending point on the upper floor.
3) Click "f=". By default it is the step height that appears.
4) Click Run view the run of the stairs.
5) Click Number of steps to view the number of steps of the stair.

Using the result of the calculation
The calculation result of the staircase is automatically saved and you can reuse it as the parameter value to another calculation by clicking on the "MR" button.
You can also copy the result into the clipboard of Windows by running the key combination "Ctrl C". This allows you to retrieve the value in another program or a Word document, Excel, or email.
